Science fiction author Vernor Vinge coined the meme 'the Singularity' in describing what could happen when our technological capabilities rapidly expand. It's also come to describe the crossover point when raw microprocessing power surpasses the capabilities of the human brain. In these mind-expanding video clips, Vinge says that we're on the verge of using technology to enhance our own minds in such a way that humans will gain extraordinary intelligence.
