Nokia's IdeasCamp in late August 2009 featured an incredible gathering of technology and content innovators, who shared their groundbreaking ideas about everything from social media, corporate and global responsibility, to medical technology and transportation systems. The Big Idea from Nokia Services Executive Vice President Tero Ojanpera is that technology is bringing us closer as a planet by enabling us to participate virtually in events and experiences on the other side of the world. Twitter Diminishes Political & Social Isolation Laura Fitton, aka @pistachio, is known for her masterful use of emergent technologies like Twitter, where she is read by thousands of community members, and her tremendous success raising charitable funds through the phenomenon of microgiving. Laura's innovative use of social media has been documented in a number of books and Laura herself has been quoted in such publications as The New York Times, BusinessWeek, The LA Times, Entrepreneur Magazine, NPR, Newsweek.com, Inc.com, CNET, ZDNet, ComputerWorld. She re-launched Pistachio Consulting in September 2008 to connect businesses to new ideas and innovations using all the tools of microsharing.

Kiva Micro-lending Offers Narratives to Bring the World Closer • Dave Stewart is an English musician and record producer. Best known for his work with Eurythmics, Stewart has written songs with many famous musicians, including Gwen Stefani, Jon Bon Jovi, Mick Jagger, t.A.T.u., Bono and Katy Perry, and cites as one of his strengths his ability to coax personal stories from his co-writers. He started the consulting company DeepStew with Deepak Chopra, is U.S. creative director for the Law Firm ad group, president of entertainment for fashion designer Christian Audigier's brand-management unit, and is an official Change Agent for Nokia.
